Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of MootMind, operated by Jatin Sharma (“MootMind”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. The Services

MootMind provides AI-powered tools for Indian moot court preparation, including an AI Memorial Generator, AI Tutor (Researcher and Speaker tracks), AI Judge (live oral round simulator), Smart Search and Ask MootMind (legal research), and team Project Workspaces. Smart Legal Search is free to use for every verified account. The generation tools are available on three paid subscription tiers (Weekly, 14-Day Moot Block, Monthly) or by purchasing individual pay-per-use credits.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@mootmind.in if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

Each account is for one individual. Sharing credentials with other people is not permitted. Teams of mooters should use the project workspace feature (up to 3 members per project, matching the standard Indian moot team size).

3. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Services for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, abuse, or defame anyone
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract content from the Services
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute any output of the AI features without our written permission
• Submit content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others
• Attempt to bypass plan limits, payment requirements, or authentication
• Use automated agents or bots to interact with the Services without our written permission
• Interfere with the integrity or security of the Services
• Submit prompts designed to make the AI generate harmful, defamatory, or sexually explicit content

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice depending on the severity of the violation.

4. Your content and our content

Your content

You retain full ownership of the moot problems, memorials, oral submissions, and other content you upload or generate using the Services (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process, transmit, and display Your Content solely to provide the Services to you and the teammates you explicitly share it with.

We do not use Your Content to train third-party AI models. We do not share Your Content with anyone outside your project workspace.

Our content

The MootMind name, logo, website design, AI prompts, instructional content, and software code are owned by us and protected under the Copyright Act, 1957 and the Trade Marks Act, 1999. You may use them only to access and use the Services in accordance with these Terms.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Plans and pricing

Free accounts include unlimited Smart Legal Search but do not include any AI-generation quota. The Weekly, 14-Day Moot Block, and Monthly plans are paid, one-time-purchase subscriptions billed through Razorpay for their respective durations (7, 14, and 30 days). Alternatively, any verified user may purchase individual pay-per-use credits without a subscription. Current pricing is listed on our pricing page. All prices are in Indian Rupees and inclusive of GST where applicable.

Team plans

Team plans (Team Weekly and Team 14-Day Moot Block) attach 1:1 to a specific Project workspace and provide a shared quota pool for all members of that Project (up to 3 seats). Only the Project owner may purchase a team plan for a Project they own. Every member of the Project can consume from the shared pool while working inside that Project; usage is visible to all members via a live counter with an attribution log. Team plan quota is not personal — team members remain accountable to each other for reasonable use of the shared resource. Team plans do not auto-renew; when a team plan expires, the Project reverts to individual-plan enforcement until the owner activates a new team plan. Individual users still retain their personal plan (or credits) for work outside team-planned Projects.

No auto-renewal

Paid subscriptions do not auto-renew. Each purchase is a one-time payment that grants access for the plan's stated duration. When the period ends, your account reverts to the free tier (Smart Legal Search remains available; generation tools pause until you renew or buy new credits). You will never be charged again without an active checkout action from your side.

Pay-per-use credits

Every verified user may purchase individual credits at the displayed unit price (memorials, tutor sessions, judge rounds, research queries) either as a subscription-free entry point or as overage top-ups on top of an existing plan. Credit purchases are charged immediately and are non-refundable once the unit is delivered.

An AI Tutor session (whether bought as a credit or included in a plan) includes up to 10 messages from you; switching study modes stays within the same session. Continuing after those 10 messages starts a new session, which uses another Tutor session.

Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, we will retry up to 3 times over 7 days. If payment cannot be collected, your account will revert to the free tier and access to paid generation features will pause until the issue is resolved. Your existing memorials, rounds, and sessions remain accessible.

Refunds

Plan purchases and pay-per-use credit purchases are non-refundable once the payment is processed. The only exception is a technical failure on our side where your payment was captured but the paid service was not delivered — in that case we refund in full or retry at no extra cost. 6. Disclaimers about AI output

The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We make no warranty that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the AI output will be complete, accurate, or fit for any specific moot or examination.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of your use of the Services is limited to the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or ₹1,000, whichever is greater.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of moot competitions, loss of reputation, or loss of data.

8. Termination

You may close your account at any time from your account settings, or by emailing support@mootmind.in. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if a payment fails and is not resolved within 30 days, or if we discontinue the Services. On termination, your access to paid features ends immediately; Your Content may be retained per our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to the Services and these Terms

We may update, add, or remove features at any time. We may also update these Terms. When we make material changes to these Terms, we'll email registered users and post a notice on the site at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Services after a change indicates acceptance.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of the Services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Gurugram, Haryana, India.
